Let’s unpack that — one of the favorite disciplines born out of Postmodernity and has transferred to the next evolution of understanding. For years we have been using these kinds of strategies to parse out meaning, form unique ideas, drive discussion points, and develop ideological perspectives and how they intertwine in our ever-changing world. Various research efforts in marketing, tech, and human capital have incorporated these practices into their data points, deconstructing personalities, processes, and personas to identify the heart of the target market, the center of the use case, and the secret to self-evaluation and personnel insight.

Now we find the next evolution, metamodernism, incorporating social and cultural theories, as well as political and ideological components, into our ideations in the workplace and our personal lives. As we strive to look into values-based decision-making, deconstruction has become a common practice to unlock resources that we have available but are ill-utilizing. This means that purpose is found in our workplace and our personal arenas through inward journies, where assessment and understanding help influence culture, values, and habits.

One of the unique opportunities amidst the efforts to embrace deconstruction is the clarity of applying an integrated understanding to your life and worldview. At the same time, there is a challenge that you might spin your ideological wheels, inventing and reinventing the wheel without ever making a real impact beyond the feel-good ideas of what is possible. In this workshop, we work toward the benefits of the potential realized through action over the ideological word service of impact.
